It is only to be expected as we transition away from fossil fueled generation but black fuel power spikes this winter are a stark reminder that a lot more needs to be done in the realm of energy storage. Just think of all those heat pumps that are supposed to be replacing domestic gas boilers - where is the power going to come from on cold still winter days?
