This post from Edie describes how the bus industry's confederation has agreed that every bus purchased from 2025 must be low or zero emission. This rather begs the question "Why wait until 2025?". The technology is available - just do it!
There is also a caveat noting that "the right support from Government" will be required. Oh yes? What's that? You and me funding a subsidy?
The post also points out that nothing was said about free transport schemes. We have experienced free bus services in Perth and Melbourne - excellent.
Come on guys - use a bit of imagination.
