I often find the posts in the Mondaq newsletters somewhat simplistic and, indeed, this one on fracking will hardly strain the little grey cells. However, it does provide quite a useful overview of the fracking landscape in the UK.
Mention of fossil fuel use in exacerbating climate change is notably muted and there is not a word on HMG's declaration of a climate emergency. This does unbalance to article to a certain extent.
The "close interaction between the law and politics" in all aspects of the nascent industry get a mention at the end but notable to me were the "manifestly excessive" sentences passed on three environmental campaigners. This suggests that in certain quarters the interaction is more than "close", it is malignly intertwined.
