Dear Ms Richardson,
The Home Office has long been something of a disfunctional organisation; I need only mention the Windrush scandal and the e-borders project debacle. Ms Priti Patel cannot be blamed for these. However, the shameful and shambolic treatment of Ukrainian refugees is happening on her watch.
Please do everything you can to impress upon Ms Patel and the senior civil servants at the Home Office that their nigh-on inhuman attitude towards those devastated, exhausted and desperate people seeking refuge in this country is not what the British public expects of its legislators. Amnesty International used the word "corrosive" in describing the Home Office's actions; need I write more?
