This post from Edie is a timely reminder that laurels cannot be sat upon with equanimity. Councils are making it easier to recycle more and more material but I believe there is a need for continual clear reminders of what may and what may not be put in each bin; plus ongoing encouragement to participate.
I am reminded of being asked by my neighbours put out their recycling bin while they were on holiday. The quantity of dirty, non-recyclable material was amazing.
Jottings from SW Surrey. This used to be mainly about energy but now I've retired it's just an old man's rant. From 23 June 2016 'til 12 December 2019 Brexit dominated but that is now a lost cause. So, I will continue to point out the stupidities of government when I'm so minded; but you may also find the odd post on climate change, on popular science or on genealogy - particularly my own family.

Just Like London Buses
Well - no sooner do I post a note about RES's proposed new project than AES announces it has a 10MW facility up and running at Kilroot. And there plans to expand this to 100MW. Could be that 2016 really will be the year of storage.
Energy Storage Project
A proposed new energy storage project by RES look set to go ahead. It's being hailed as an industry first to prove the effectiveness of such systems in distributed generation situations. Interesting that - I remember such claims being promulgated for the long-lamented Regenesys system back at the start of the century. Let's hope that this venture is more successful than Regenesys. Parenthetically - good to see another ex-colleague reach the dizzy heights of CEO.
